Lisa Jo Lupo wrote about pest control issues for The Spruce from 2011 to 2016​ and has more than 25 years of experience in the pest control industry. She was communications manager for Ecolab Pest Elimination, responsible for all technical and employee publications and later started her own practice, writing educational pest management scripts for Copesan University and customer communications for various pest control companies.

She is a contributing writer for Pest Control Technology (PCT) magazine and an editor of QA magazine, focused on food safety, including pest management. She also was editor of The Service Technician's Field Manual and Study Guide, The Service Technician's Inspection and Identification Manual and Study Guide, and PCT Guide to Commercial Pest Management, and co-editor of the fourth edition of the PCT Technician's Handbook.
