Rats Make Great Companions

So says a young English woman, the founder of Rodent Rescue and foster mother to 150 rodents and counting. She claims that many of her adoptees are now in her care, not for a lack of love but because their owners were not educated in the proper care of their long-whiskered pets.

Rats are wonderful, intelligent, gentle companions – you could not wish for better. Lethal control of rats with poisons and traps is unacceptable. If a balance is required, I definitely prefer the employment of cats and birds of prey. But if you ever kept a rat as a companion, you would never be part of killing one.
